Who we are

The Health & Social Equity Collective (HSE Collective) is a collaborative network bringing together researchers, practitioners, community organisations, policy professionals, and others committed to advancing health and social equity.

The Collective provides a space to connect, share knowledge, and develop ideas that support more equitable health and social care systems. By bringing together people from different sectors, disciplines, and communities, we aim to strengthen collaboration and support work that addresses the structural drivers of health and social inequalities.

Following the merger with the Health Inequalities & Inequities Research Group (HIRG), the Collective now provides a unified platform for sharing expertise, building partnerships, and supporting capacity across the field.

Our Aims

Through our collective activities we aim to:

Build a collaborative and supportive community focused on health and social equity

Share research, practice-based knowledge, and lived experience

Support learning, career development, and peer connection

Promote inclusive and community-informed approaches to research and practice

Our Activities

The network provides a range of regular and ad-hoc activities, including: 

Seminars and Knowledge – Sharing Events 

Bi-monthly seminars featuring members’ work and guest speakers

Peer Support & Reflective Practice Sessions 

Safe spaces for early career researchers, students, clinicians, and community practitioners to share challenges, advice, and resources. 

Research Directory 

A co-produced directory that connects members with others who have relevant expertise in specific topics, methods, or communities. 

Career and Skills Development Workshops

Workshops and informal sessions where members share experiences, career journeys, and practical guidance.

Weekly Round-Up Emails 

A newsletter sharing opportunities, resources, events, and updates.
