Health & social Equity Collective

Working together for equal access and experience in health and social care

Who we are

The Health and Social Equity Collective consists of researchers, community leaders, policy makers, and health professionals responding to persistent social and health inequities.

What we want to change

We aim to address inequity by identifying and engaging the levers of change within and across institutions. Specifically, using our collaboration and collective activities to:

Generate a more inclusive knowledge base and make it translatable to individuals, communities, and policymakers’ awareness

Tackle entrenched inequalities in education, training, and capacity-building

Redistribute power by working in partnership with communities affected by health inequities

Our Approach

We aim to co-create inclusive, sustainable, and interdisciplinary working to tackle inequities in:

What gets researched

Whose voices are heard

Training and career pipelines

What evidence is valued

We centre the lived experience of marginalised communities to challenge ‘deficit’ narratives and instigate fair, impactful and human-centred solutions that confront health and social inequalities locally, regionally and globally.
